Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is a malignant disease in which prostate cells get out of control and affect the male reproductive system. It is the most common type of cancer among men and there are many treatment options for these patients. Depending on each case, active surveillance, surgery, radiotherapy, cryotherapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, vaccine therapy, and bone-directed Radium-223 therapy and targeted Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy can be used for this purpose.
Bone Metastatic Prostate Cancer
When prostate cancer spreads to other parts of the body, it often goes to the bones. Bone metastases can cause other problems besides pain, such as fractures, spinal cord compression, or high blood calcium levels that can be life-threatening. Once the cancer reaches the bones, controlling or relieving pain and other complications is a crucial part of treatment. Treatments such as hormone therapy, chemotherapy, and vaccines can help. However, with Radium-223 treatment, which specifically targets bone metastasis in suitable patients, symptoms can be controlled on the one hand and survival-enhancing effect can be achieved on the other.
Neuroendocrine Tumors
Neuroendocrine tumors are a rare group of tumors that can develop in many different organs of the body. They originate from neuroendocrine cells that secrete hormones into the bloodstream. Since neuroendocrine tumors can produce much higher amounts of hormones than normal, they can cause many different symptoms and complaints. Although these tumors can be benign or malignant (cancer), they are often slow-growing and not very aggressive.
Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid cancer is a type of cancer that originates in the thyroid gland, a small gland in the front of the neck. The most common symptom of thyroid cancer is a painless lump or swelling in the neck. Symptoms such as unexplained hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or painless enlargement of the neck lymph nodes that last for more than a few weeks usually occur in more advanced disease. The prognosis of thyroid cancers is generally good when compared to other cancer types. Most thyroid cancer patients can be treated easily and effortlessly with hormone and radioactive Iodine-131-atom treatments.
Liver Tumors
Most of the liver tumors cannot be surgically removed because of their large size or proximity to life-threatening structures. Sometimes, the disease can cause small but many tumors to spread to the liver. In this case, surgery is both very risky and not practical. Surgical removal is not possible in two-thirds of primary liver cancer patients and more than 90 percent of patients with metastatic (secondary) liver cancer for these reasons. In patients with inoperable liver cancer, one of the treatment options is Yttrium-90 microsphere treatment.
Why MNT is different?
We carried our experience and expertise in nuclear medicine and radiation oncology into the field of theranostics. We aim to provide cancer patients with access to theranostic diagnosis and treatment methods with an optimum quality-cost balance. In the world, we successfully implement all of the methods to JCI accredited health institutions.
